About the Event

We're kicking off our first dual-tournament night of the new Saturday Night Slam season with the crowd favorite Smash Bros Ultimate alongside an appropriately October-y game, Mortal Kombat 11!  Both tournaments will be completely separate, with their own brackets and payouts. Yes, that means you can enter and win both tournaments.

Our Smash Ultimate ruleset is simple:

-Double elimination

-Winner's bracket finalist has to be defeated twice by the loser's bracket finalist

-Matches are best two-out-of-three rounds. Rounds are three stocks with a seven minute time limit with items, smash meter, and spirits turned off.

-Mii Fighters of all builds are allowed.

-The first stage in the three-round match will be random Battlefield. After that, the loser of the previous round chooses what stage to fight on.

-Allowed stages are any Battlefield or Omega stage, along with Town and City, Pokemon Stadium 2, and Smashville.

-If both competitors agree on a different stage, others may be used.

For MK11 we're going to be adopting a slightly modified version of the standard Evo rules from now on, so rules are as follows:

-Double elimination

-Winner's bracket finalist has to be defeated twice by the loser's bracket finalist

-Matches are best two rounds out of three.

-Once we get to the top eight, matches will be best three rounds out of five.

-Round winners will not be allowed to switch characters.

-Stage Select will be randomized.

While controllers can be provided, it is strongly recommended that you bring your own controller. Unfortunately, we will NOT have any of the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC or unlockable characters(Frost or Shao Khan) available, however Smash Ultimate will have the full roster as of 10/9/19. Yes, that includes funny meme skeleton.

Again, both tournaments are free to enter, and winning payouts will be $10 and $5 in M&M Video Games Store Credit to first and second place.
